The Glenlivet Project
At the southern end of Banffshire lies a valley, typical in nature to the Scottish Highlands, of farms, streams, and hills. This is where the people of Glenlivet lived, married, and died. Catholics, Protestants, crofters, teachers, and shoemakers reared children that spread to the world becoming the ancestors of hundreds of thousands of diverse people living in Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and throughout the world.
This website intends to become the permanent repository of the stories of the people of this place. Birth, marriage, death records, census returns, church records, pictures of memorial inscriptions, family trees, and stories all hint at the lives lived in this little valley.
In order for this to happen, individuals throughout the world have selflessly donated countless hours to collecting and transcribing these records. Visit the Thank You Page to see some of those that have contributed their own work to further the project.
