Project News
This page will be updated regularly with news about the project, tasks that are currently underway, website maintenance alerts, calendar of events in Glenlivet, and bunch of other good stuff. For now, here is the latest on the website. You can also see the What's New Page that automatically logs all of the changes to the website.

29 Jan 2007 - 1600 names. It has been a while since I updated this page, but I am pleased to announce that we have crossed the 1600 name mark and have added a few more photographs and scans of original documents. The project membership has grown as well to 25 members. Much more to come in 2007.

25 July 2006 - 1300 names The names keep coming in! As each member adds names from their family line we are rounding out the picture of Glenlivet, with Smith, Innes, Cameron families to go with the Stuart, Grant, and McHardy families we are familiar with. Many new photos added with more to come. The Places and Artefacts sections on the website are now active, so send in your pictures of places and headstones or other interesting objects.
July 2006 - 1841 Census For subscribers to Ancestry.co.uk (company I work for) the full transcription of the 1841 Census is now available. The FreeCen project has also provided a free transcription of the1841 and 1851 Census at their website. Both good alternatives to the rather expensive ScotlandsPeople online.
10 July 2006 - 1000 names A busy week with many new families added and lots of corrections. (Thanks for those, keep sending them in). The Project passed an important milestone tonight with over 1,000 names now available to search. My estimation is that I have at least that many more waiting in the wings to be checked or transcribed. More photos and scans of original documents are coming as well (all of 1855 birth registers for example).
2 July 2006 - Photos. Thanks to Ian, we have our first photos posted to the website. I have a few more to post, but am very interested in collecting as many photos as possible for inclusion on the site. Please contact me at laryn@clicktrees.com if you have photos that you would like to contribute. Please remember to follow our copyright policy when submitting photos.
